I love it when a smoothie comes together!
If you're not in the mood for a veggie smoothie and just need something sweet and fruity, this is a sure winner!
We have blueberries getting ripe right now in our yard and strawberries are a good bargain in the stores. I forgot to buy strawberry plants so I'm just buying the strawberries from the grocery store. Our locally owned grocery store chain has good fruit. The strawberries are gorgeous right now!
Bananas and grapes are staples in our kitchen so these four just came together in a way that seemed natural.
Here's a tip concerning strawberries. As soon as I get home from the store with them, I wash and slice them and store them in my lovely green quart Mason jars. They stay fresh much longer and don't mold.
Very Berry Banana Grape Smoothie with Ginger Essential Oil
- One cup sliced strawberries
- One banana, sliced
- One cup red seedless grapes
- One cup blueberries(these were super fresh, just picked them from our bushes about an hour earlier)
- One drop Ginger Essential Oil(thanks to Camp Wander for that idea!)
I put the ingredients in the blender in this order, it’s probably not necessary since they are all juicy fruits. No added sweetener is needed unless desired.
If you want more sweet to this, add one tablespoon pure honey or maple syrup.
You can also add 1-2 teaspoons of chia seeds after blending the fruit if desired.
Blend fruit on high until smooth, add the drop of ginger and pulse just to mix.
This makes a tiny bit more than a pint. If you want enough for two, simply double this recipe.
If you want this to be more of a frozen treat, just freeze any of the fruit first.
