Two DIY Household Cleaners with Essential Oils

It's been several years now since I've bought any kind of household cleaners, laundry detergent, etc.

It's a good feeling to know that you're not only making your home safer for your family, but saving $$$ in the process.

Today I'm sharing two incredibly efficient and super easy to make household cleaners with the extra cleaning and disinfecting strengths of essential oils.

Both cleaning sprays are basically the same, but with different Essential Oils added.

Basic Recipe for spray:

In an average size spray bottle, which is normally 24-32 ounces, use equal parts white vinegar and basic blue Dawn dish detergent. You can use any version of Dawn you like however, the basic gets the job done. I often use the green simply because I like the color. Tip: Some people say it helps to heat the vinegar a bit in your microwave before adding the Dawn. I don't own a microwave, so I don't and I've never noticed any problem with them blending.

General Bathroom/Household Cleaner

For general cleaning, add 15-20 drops Spark Naturals Wild Orange or other citrus Essential Oil.

For extra disinfecting power for the general recipe, add 15-20 drops of Spark Naturals Shield Protective Blend.

This cleaner, hands down, cleans my bathroom fixtures better than any I've ever used, including those high dollar bottles you buy. I simply spray, walk away and leave it for a few minutes and then wipe down and rinse.

Remember! This is dish washing detergent and it only takes a small amount! If you spray too much, you'll be rinsing a lot! USE SPARINGLY! Of course, this means, a little goes a long way and it lasts a long, long time. That's always good news.

Extra Sanitizing Cleaner

If you're needing a strong disinfectant, skip the Wild Orange and add 15-20 drops of Spark Naturals Oregano. Another option is Thyme EO.

Oregano and Thyme are both great antiseptics, they fight against infections, parasites, allergens, viruses, bacteria, etc.

TIP: Add a drop or two of Oregano or Thyme to your dishwater for extra sanitizing power if you wash your dishes by hand. I don't own a diswasher(except for Mr. White and I think he's broken too as far as washing dishes) so I'm not an expert on dishwashers, but I would think you could add a drop or two in your detergent dispenser to help with more sanitizing. You can also add a drop to your dishrag or sponge to keep them sterile.

Don't forget that you always get 10% off your order at Spark Naturals with coupon code PATTI.

Shipping is only $5 unless your order totals $55 or more and then it's FREE SHIPPING!
